Everything Cool in Portugal
Day 3 is packed full of shows, so we have split them into two posts. First, we will take a look at the collections of Ricardo Andrez, Filipe Faísca, Aleksandar Protic and Lidija Kolovrat.
In this collection, Ricardo Andrez contrasts gray tones of urban life, with cream, tan and blue-black for his Autumn/Winter 2012 menswear collection. Hooded rain coats and leggings, mix with print tops and shorts. The use of small wooden cubes show up as geometric patterns on elbow and knee pads, sweater backs and shoulder detail.

With 1960´s and ´70´s masculine silhouettes as an inspiration, Filipe Faísca new collection for men and women focus on black grey brown and sand. Combinations of these colors are emphasized in the bold plaids of many of the pieces. His heavier materials of wool twill and felt stand alone for the masculine influence, but are paired with silk mousseline and Chinese crepe for the softer side of femininity.
As a continuation of precious collections in concept, Alexsandar Protic this time turns to higher-quality silks and leathers for Autumn/Winter 2012. Cottons and wools are also utilized to bring some variations of texture to the collection. Yet, colors are strictly black and nude.
Recuts creating layers…and sometimes hollows…sets the mood for the geometric inspired collection of Lidija Kolovrat. Wool is the core material used to create structure for the ornamentation of new and recycled leathers, and used furs. Sophisticated hues of orange green, red, blue and yellow further enhance liveliness and playfulness.
