Everything Cool in Portugal
Our friends at Wrong Weather in Porto are always on the cutting edge of fashion and art. In fact, the architecturally-stunning fashion-forward menswear shop features its own art gallery. The next exhibition scheduled for the space at is a show-stopper. A/F1 is a video art presentation incorporating provocative concepts and stylistic expression to convey the theme of fashion via the moving image. Check it out 21 November to 3 December.

Curator for this exhibition is film producer and director Konstantinos Menelaou. His curatorial projects have taken place at the Centre Pompidou, Boulan Miami and Tribeca Grand Hotel. Menelaou assembles significant and intriguing works from some of the greatest fashion visual artists of today, including:
JOE LALLY ■ KATHRYN FERGUSON ■ MADALEINE TRIGG ■ MAYA NIGHTINGALE ■ PHILLIP NEIL MARTIN ■ ANTONIO DA SILVA ■ SOCRATES MITSIOS & ACTUALLY HUIZENGA ■ STAVRO CHRISTO VLACHAKIS ■ TARRYN GILL & PILAR MATA DUPONT
Philip Martin’s experimental fashion, animation and music film, Cocoon, utilizes an array of mirror and wire film footage with fragmentary animation and point data mapping of body movement.
Soft Rock II (from which the still image above is taken) is the second installment in an erotic romance miniseries by Socrates Mitsios and Actually Huizenga. The viewer is witness to a crime of sexual violence shot in a blending of silent film and video-futurism styling.
