Gisela Matthjis is synonymous with elegant dining in the central Algarve. After all, her company Fine Dining in Style has been serving personalized haute cuisine to private residences in the Golden Triangle for 15 years. So, we are thrilled to know that the Queen of Cuisine has decided to fulfill a dream and open a restaurant on the Praça in Vale do Lobo. Now we all get to enjoy the fine food, excellent service and overall delight that is Gisela.
Gisela’s sits at the entrance of the Praça. A curved ramp lures guests up to the contemporary restaurant perched above the popular entertainment center. Inside, the modern dining room seats 40 comfortably. Fuchsia, aqua and white décor is art deco chic, mixed with South Beach attitude, and sprinkled with Vale do Lobo glamour. Large picture windows provide amazing views of the ocean. Outside, Gisela’s enjoys the benefit of additional seating on a large terrace for dining under the stars with a fresh sea breeze.
In the kitchen, Gisela has appointed Philipp Glas de Sousa as Head Chef. Glas de Sousa is a superstar from the Fine Dining in Style team. And speaking of stars, Glas de Sousa worked many years as Sous Chef at the Michelin star restaurant Amadeus. So, with Gisela’s inspiration and Glas de Sousa’s execution, the result will surely be gastronomic satisfaction. Some highlights from the menu include:
