A new boutique hotel arrives in Lisbon poised to become a popular hangout for the trendy traveler. Seven floors of haute hospitality are capped with a rooftop terrace offering some of the best views of the city and beyond.

The hotel is designed by renowned architect Miguel Saraiva. The façade is a fusion of traditional Pombaline (style popular in Lisbon following the 1755 earthquake) with sleek contemporary materials. Inside, elegant black dominates the color scheme, with tones of gray, khaki, cream and white providing accents. Luxurious fabrics such as suede, silk and velvet cover the walls, cushion the furniture and decorate the rooms.
There are 47 rooms at the Mercy, offering a variety of sizes, amenities and views of Old Lisbon, São Jorge’s Castle or the Tagus River. Cosy single and double rooms start at €160 per night. They feature two twin or one queen size bed, with dual seating, 37” LCD TV and free wireless Internet. Deluxe rooms have a large desk space available to catch up with work or plan your tours. These rooms begin at €240 per night.
Two suites, Stars of the Sky and Moon River, each have private terraces. Suite guests also enjoy the comfort of a king size bed and living room with sofa. (Suites start at €375 per night.)
The Mercy restaurant on the ground floor serves Portuguese cuisine with an international flair. The space is contemporary and sophisticated, yet pleasantly casual. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served daily. In the late evening, the Mercy Bar serves cocktails and Portuguese wines. Or, step out on the top floor Belvedere Terrace, for drinks with a star-lit sky and 360º views of Lisbon.
