Music in the Metro Festival – Underground in Lisbon throughout October

It you’re walking through Lisbon in October and you hear music emanating from terra firma,…know that you are not going crazy! The first ever Music in the Metro Festival takes place underground every Wednesday through Saturday during the month. The metro stations of Cais de Sodré, Marquês de Pombal, Campo Grande and Aeroporto, will be the stages for many types of Portuguese music.

In fact, some days, the concerts will be live INSIDE the train. This unique music experience is what organizers call the Mobile Showcase.

Lissabon

The concert series starts on Monday, 1 October, which happens to be World Music Day.

Concerts at Cais de Sodré station are free. The Mobile Showcase events will cost the price of one Metro ticket.
