15 ethereal abstract paintings by renowned Portuguese artist Deolinda Fonseca are featured in a new exhibition at the Vale do Lobo Art Gallery, running 14 January to 3 April 2014.
This show is another cultural collaboration between Vale do Lobo and the respected Galeria São Mamede in Lisbon.

Born and raised in Porto, Fonseca (1954 – ) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and established herself as a painter and sculptor in Denmark. She furthered her studies with scholarships awarded by Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. In 2002, Fonseca was awarded the most prestigious Comendador da Ordem do Infante D. Henrique by the President of the Republic of Portugal.
Fonseca’s distinctive works are found in the Portuguese Embassy in Copenhagen as well as the Roennenebaeksholm Museum and Hvidovre Hospital in Denmark, and the Camões Institution in Luxemburg. Her paintings are also held in private and corporate collections in Belgium, the United States, Luxemburg, Spain, Ireland, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway and England.
