A galaxy of Michelin stars converge in the Algarve for five full, delicious nights of gastronomic excellence. The VILA VITA Parc Fine Wines & Food Fair, is a gourmet festival rarely experienced anywhere in the world. For four nights, Ocean restaurant hosts remarkable dinners created by remarkable Michelin Three-Star chefs. They are supported by Ocean’s-own Two Michelin Star Executive Chef Hans Neuner. Each dinner consists of five courses, accompanied by wine pairings.

The Kitchen Party on Saturday, 9 May, is a stand-up affair of 25 Grand Chefs, collectively holding 33 Michelin Stars, accompanied by 15 Wine Producers, all representing 10 Countries. Mingle among fellow connoisseurs and chat with award-winning chefs, while sipping finest wines and sampling delicious dishes. (Editor’s note: Portugal Confidential attended the Kitchen Party 2013. Wednesday, 6th May

Jonnie Boer – ★★★ Michelin Stars – De Librije Restaurant, Zwolle, Netherlands

Jonnie Boer is renowned for his Boer style in which he utilizes seasonal herbs and vegetables from his region to accentuate the flavors of his dishes. His restaurant, De Librije, is in a former 16th century abbey, and has been ranked 29th position on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.

Thursday, 7th May

Gert De Mangeleer – ★★★ Michelin Stars – Hertog Jan Restaurant, Bruges, Belgium

In just five years, 38-year-old de Mangeleer has received three Michelin stars, awarded 18.5 points from Gault et Millau, and named “Best European Chef of 2014” at Madrid Fusion. De Mangeleer creates flavors, textures and contrasts, combining fresh and regional products with specialties from around the world.

Friday, 8th May

Klaus Erfort – ★★★ Michelin Stars – GästeHaus Erfort, Saarbrücken, Germany

Considered one of the “Top 5 German Chefs,” Klaus Erfort is also distinguished with “Upcomer of the Year” and “Chef of the Year” by Gault et Millau, and shall we not forget, awarded his first Michelin star at the tender age of 21. In 2002 he opened GästeHaus Erfort, in Saarbrücken, which earned three Michelin stars in only six years.

No doubt, it’s Jacob Jan Boerma’s perfectionist mentality which has lead him to such acclaim as Chef of the Year in 2010, and earned De Leest the 2nd position in the best 500 restaurants of Holland. According to Boerma, the quality of the product is indeed the base of success.
