Ever see a museum naked? For the common visitor it’s hard to image the stately institutions without their works of art on the walls. Yet, a new photography exhibition at the Berardo Collection Museum in Lisbon takes curious art lovers behind-the-scenes to explore the inner-workings of assembling a museum. O Museu em Montagem (Museum in Assembly): Photography of Rodrigo Bettencourt da Câmara runs through 24 February 2013.

This show is a true documentary effort recording different stages in assembling display space in the Berardo Collection Museum. Through the exhibition photos, visitors see the route artworks take from shipping crate to museum showcase. Empty spaces and bare walls come alive to engage, entertain and inspire onlookers.
