UPDATE (Sunday, 23 October 2016): Irishman Padraig Harrington is champion of the 2016 Portugal Masters.  The Dublin-native held off returning champion Andy Sullivan by one stroke for a total score of 261, 23 under par. This is Harrington’s 15th European Tour career victory.  He takes home €333,000 in prize money.


One of the most popular tournaments on the European golf tour returns to the Algarve for the tenth straight year. The Portugal Master, with prize money of two million euros is the largest tournament held in Portugal. The oceanside resort of Vilamoura once again plays host to this prestigious event, taking place 20-23 October at the Oceânico Victoria Course.



With an area of about 90 hectares, the Victoria course is a par 72 championship course designed by American Arnold Palmer, a legend in the history of professional golf.

Defending champion Andy Sullivan is back to take on a robust field of competitors, including his Ryder Cup team member Thomas Pieters. See a full list of players here.
