Museum Art, Architecture & Technology, Lisbon – Summer Exhibitions

The Museum of Art, Architecture & Technology (MAAT) is Lisbon’s newest cultural entity. The museum, developed to showcase the EDP Foundation Art Collection, plays host to a four exhibitions running through the Summer, at the Tejo Power Station (Museum of Electricity).

The mushroom cloud, symbol of the atomic bomb, meets the virtual cloud of the information age in a new exhibition at Serralves Contemporary Art Museum in Porto. “Under the Clouds” explores the interrelated effects and affects of these two clouds on life, work, leisure, love, and on images, bodies, and minds.

The Conrad Algarve and Private Gallery present five Portuguese artists in one show at the Conrad Algarve. Works by Damião Porto, Duma, Paulo Falcão, Ricardo Paula, Rogério Timóteo are in exhibition, beginning 23 May and running through 19 July. This is a rare opportunity to get to know more about contemporary Portuguese art by five emerging artists.

Couture fashion is celebrated with a new exhibition cycle at MUDE – Museum of Design and Fashion, Francisco Capelo Collection in Lisbon. Pieces representing an individual designer in the collection are featured in single shows. French designer Cristian Lacroix is the first to be showcased.
