They’re calling it “the event of the year” a “a culinary celebration of Spring”! Taste Portugal, the Portuguese Tourist Board’s gourmet initiative, in association with Conrad Algarve, one of the finest five star hotels in Portugal, presents a culinary celebration as eight spectacular chefs descend on the Algarve for a gourmet extravaganza on 28 and 29 March.

Seven of the world’s most highly acclaimed chefs will cook with Conrad Algarve’s very own three Michelin starred Heinz Beck for two exceptional dinners, as his signature restaurant Gusto by Heinz Beck.  Wine for the evening will be provided by Wines of Portugal, and selected by a team of Portugal’s best sommeliers, including Conrad Algarve’s award-winning Head Sommelier, Antonio Lopes.

Saturday, 28 March – TASTE PORTUGAL Kitchen Party


Hosted by three Michelin starred chef Heinz Beck, this exclusive kitchen party will offer guests the exceptional opportunity to interact with a series of national and international Michelin chefs in an informal setting as they cook up their mouth-watering creations. Only by seeing the masters at work can one really appreciate what it is to understand ingredients in such a way as to know instinctively what to put with what. Joining in the celebration are:

The Kitchen Party starts at 19:00 with a cocktail reception. Dinner follows at 20:00.  Tickets are 175€ per person including wine flight.

Sunday, 29 March – TASTE PORTUGAL Dégustation Dinner

Experience traditional Portuguese fare at its best in exquisite Portuguese surroundings. A superb degustation menu is carefully prepared by top Michelin starred chefs, using only the finest and freshest seasonal local produce, guaranteeing a sensory experience to remember. Each dish is superbly paired with premium Portuguese wines, selected by António Lopes and his team of some of the best sommeliers in Portugal.
