“The Pool” is composed of over 100 interactive independent, yet networkable discs consisting of 40,0000 custom LEDS, controllers, drivers and software. To make it work, participants must step onto the disc platforms. The pool is interactive, so the force of pressure by jumping, running or walking softly affects the color and intensity of the light. Multiple users engaging together will make the effect even more dramatic.
Jen Lewin plans and executes her works from her studio in Boulder, Colorado. Her technically complex installations have been featured at such acclaimed and unique venues as Burning Man Festival in Nevada, the Gwangju Art Biennale in South Korea, Tisch School of the Arts at Lincoln Center in New York City, Wired Magazine’s NextFest, and SXSW in Autsin, Texas.
Visit “The Pool” in the Praça Central (center court) of Centro Colombo every day from 10:00 to 24:00.
