Innovative Portuguese urban artist AKACORELEONE is a featured collaborator for Bombay Sapphire’s new #SawThisMadeThis campaign. With the motto “The world is a gallery; creativity is everywhere,” the spirits brand, together with director Baz Luhrman, asked international artists to find creativity in everyday life. AKACORELONE completed three works inspired by the city of Lisbon
AKACORLEONE’s first work tells a story of the relationship between the Tagus River and the city. His watercolor on paper LISBOA I, pays homage to Portuguese artist José Sobral de Almada Negreiros, whose sculpture on the Ribeira das Naus riverwalk is a landmark in the capital.
The second work LISBOA II, an iridescent film on acrylic, places attention on the architectural details of Art Nouveau and Art Deco in the historic architecture of the city.
LISBOA III is an Installation with LED strips on an acrylic structure. Here, AKACORLEONE brings us a tribute to the neon legacy of of Lisbon and its festive streetlife culture.
