Carry the Algarve with you wherever you go. Algarve perfume and soaps are here. Mixing orange blossom, orange and rockrose, the fragrance evokes “scent-sational” memories of wildflower fields, orange groves and sea winds. Algarve fragrance products are ideal for personal use or to give as gifts for friends and family back home.
Algarve is the newest release from Portuguese-based 100ml. “Algarve is a dream come true,” says 100ml Founder and CEO Luís Pereira, “because it was an idea I had for some time. I’m a Lisbon native who really likes the Algarve.”
So, he enlisted the help of Paula Gomes, a founder of i-sensis perfume design. In addition to the more obvious aromatic references to the Algarve, such as oranges and wildflowers, she added amber and vanilla to convey an idea of warmth.
Algarve fragrance is the latest product in 100ml’s Leme collection, paying homage to key moments in Portuguese Discoveries. Algarve joins the product line of:
Ceuta – leather and cashmere
Madeira Island – wisteria and peony
Cape of Storms – juniper berries and sea water
India – pink pepper and neroli
Brazil – tropical fruits and sugar cane
Japan – cherry blossom and white tea
The Algarve’s inclusion in this “historical” collection hints at a time in 1434 when Portuguese navigator Gil Eanes was asked by then Portugal King, Dom Henrique, to steer a barge around Cape Bojador (in modern Western Sahara). At that time, this cape was the furthest known limit of the West African coast.
Algarve shower gel, hand cream and other fragrance products are coming soon.
Look for Algarve fragrance and soaps at Casa da Bli locations in the Algarve (Vilamoura marina, Quinta do Lago, Loulé center and Faro center), d’Estórias, in Lagos, as well as A Vida Portuguesa stores in Lisbon and Porto, El Corte Inglés department store, and other fine gift shops.
