Austrian Weeks at the Biergarten in Porches, Algarve, through 15 March

Tired of pizza, sushi and bacalhau à brás? Go Austrian! It’s Austrian Weeks at the Biergarten!

Vila Vita Biergarten in Porches, Algarve, home to delicious Bavarian food, is offering something a little different. Until 15 March, the chefs at the Biergarten are preparing a special menu filled with Austrian favorites.

Try Goulash soup with Vienna bread, the famous Tiroler Gröstl (potato sauté with veal and bacon) or Wiener Backhendl (breaded and crispy chicken with warm potato salad and lamb’s lettuce).

For dessert, if you’ve never tried Kaiserschmarrn, then you haven’t lived. These Austrian pancakes are sprinkled with walnuts and covered in vanilla sauce. Or, try a Quark Strudel with apricots and vanilla ice cream.
