Bon Bon, the Michelin starred restaurant near Carvoeiro, reopens under the continued guidance of owner, maître d’ and sommelier Nuno Diogo, and the masterful creativity of Executive Chef José Lopes.
You’ll find them in a rather unassuming location with serene views out to mountains. The tables are clean set, and diners can choose from the sheltered terrace or inside around the fireplace.
A Portugal native, Lopes isn’t afraid of big flavors, and brings the best Portuguese produce to the table in his bold and inspired style. With a solid curriculum including Resident Chef at Michelin star Eleven and Head Chef at Clube Lisboeta and Tivoli Hotels, Chef Lopes credentials speak for themself.
The presentation is immaculate and creative, but it’s when the moments and courses pass your lips that things get interesting!
There’s a selection of tasting menus to choose from with lunch starting at €35 and the evening service ranging from 7 moments at €115 (with wine pairing €75) to 9 moments at €140 (with wine pairing €85). I’d wholeheartedly recommend the wine compliment as they are paired to perfection.
Since the beginning, having enjoyed dining here, it’s fair to say that this dynamic duo is off to an excellent start, and I’m genuinely excited to see what they will achieve together!
