Lisbon is about to get a dramatic dose of visual storytelling, as internationally celebrated photographer David Yarrow brings his iconic work to the capital for the first time. From 22 May to 1 June 2025, Storytelling, a pop-up exhibition inspired by Yarrow’s acclaimed book, will transform a charming gallery space on Rua Santo António à Estrela into a window into extraordinary worlds.
Organized by In The Pink—a Loulé-based gallery known for showcasing world-class photography—this special exhibition marks their debut in Lisbon. Storytelling is a curated collection of Yarrow’s most compelling images from the last decade, transporting viewers from the American Wild West to the plains of Africa and beyond. Each photograph is an epic narrative, rendered in his signature monochromatic style, and constructed with the precision of a film director.
Born in Glasgow, Yarrow’s path to becoming one of the world’s most sought-after photographers has been anything but conventional. After an early career in sports photography (he captured the legendary image of Maradona lifting the World Cup in 1986), and later finance, Yarrow pivoted to full-time artistry. His lens now captures wildlife, indigenous cultures, and cinematic scenes with emotional intensity and global resonance.
