Eclipse Dinner Series: Chefs Pedro Pinto and Henrique Sá Pessoa at Viceroy Ombria, 11 & 12 July

This summer, the Algarve’s gastronomic scene is set to shimmer under the light of a rare culinary phenomenon. On 11 and 12 July, Solalua—the fine dining gastropub at Viceroy at Ombria Algarve—hosts another edition of Eclipse, an exclusive four-hands dinner series that brings together two extraordinary chefs for one unforgettable experience.

Eclipse is more than a dinner—it’s a celestial celebration of creativity and craft, inspired by Solalua’s namesake: “sol” (sun) and “lua” (moon). It symbolizes the meeting of two culinary forces in perfect harmony. At the heart of this collaboration is Chef Pedro Pinto, Viceroy’s resident talent, who will be joined for this summer edition by none other than Henrique Sá Pessoa of the two Michelin-starred Alma in Lisbon and one star Vinha in Porto.

Two Chefs, One Stage

Known for his bold, elegant take on Algarvian cuisine, Chef Pedro Pinto brings a rich résumé that spans some of Europe’s finest kitchens—from the three-Michelin-starred AbAC in Barcelona to Vila Joya and VILA VITA Parc in Portugal. Now leading the charge at Solalua, Pinto continues to push boundaries with refined regional flavours and seasonal produce.

Joining him is Chef Vasco Coelho Santos, one of Portugal’s most exciting–and international–culinary visionaries. Having trained in acclaimed kitchens as Evo Santi Santimara in Barcelona, El Cellar de Can Roca in Girona and Tippling Club in Singapore, Sá Pessoa considers his travels as the greatest influence over his cooking. In addition to his restaurants in Portugal, Sá Pessoa has found success with Joia in London, Arca in Amsterdam and Sereia in Miami.

The Experience

Guests of Eclipse will be treated to a ten-course tasting menu, featuring five courses from each chef. Chef Pinto will shine a spotlight on the Algarve, while Chef Sá Pessoa delivers a taste of his inventive, global perspective. Each dish will be paired with hand-selected wines to complement and elevate the experience.

With only 25 seats available each night, this intimate dinner promises to be an unforgettable evening of dialogue, flavour, and artistry.
