Festival Med 2025 – 26-29 June, in Loulé, Algarve

There is no doubt that a highlight of the Algarve Summer event season is the Festival Med in Loulé. Celebrate Mediterranean culture and international music, featuring dozens of international artists on stages around the city center. Street performers wander around the old town providing entertainment. Food stalls line the alleyways. Arts and crafts, poetry, cinema, children’s activities, exhibitions and lectures round out this fabulous festival. Festival Med 2025 runs from 26-29 June.

Three days of music is scheduled across five stages.

Another important feature of this year’s festival is Open Day! On Sunday, 29 June, the festival is open and free to the public to mix and mingle and take part in final activities. the schedule includes:

During Festival MED in Loulé, the historic streets transform into a pulsating open-air stage where music, performance, and creativity fill every corner. Jugglers leap and twirl through the alleys, musicians fill the air with Mediterranean rhythms, and artists turn cobbled pathways into galleries of color and imagination. From the haunting harmonies of Cante Alentejano—recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage—to the infectious beats of Tabanka, Kolá San Jon, and Batuku, along with folkloric groups and itinerant performers, the festival becomes a living tapestry of cultural expression.

In addition to world music, other multiculturalism activities are planned around film, theater, visual arts, gastronomy and crafts.
