Hiking in the Algarve is good clean fun. And, get this….it’s crisis-friendly! It’s free. The Algarve of Portugal offers numerous trails, with different views, variety of terrain and spiritual-like experiences.



From Castro Marim in the east to Sagres in the west, the Algarve features trails in the hills or along the coast. Our friends at Channel 5 provides video previews of some of their favorite walks.

São Lorenço Trail | Quinta do Lago

Beautiful flat trail meandering past the golf courses of Quinta da Lago and through the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve.

Rocha da Pena Trail

6.4 km hike rich with vegetation and birdlife. The trail is located in the Rocha da Pena Classified Site.

Paderne Castle Trail

In the northern Albufeira council, in the city of Paderne, this 4.5km walk starts at the Paderne Castle and follows both banks of the Quarteira River.

Vale Fuzieros Trail near Messines
