As Lisbon continues to cement its reputation as one of Europe’s most dynamic creative capitals, Lisbon Design Week returns in 2026 with its most ambitious edition yet. Taking place across approximately 80 venues throughout the city, the five-day event will spotlight more than 150 creators working across furniture, interiors, textiles, craftsmanship, architecture, fashion, and collectible design. From historic chapels and private apartments to galleries, ateliers, and hotels, Lisbon Design Week once again transforms the city into an immersive showcase of contemporary Portuguese creativity.

What is Lisbon Design Week?
Founded by Michèle Fajtmann, Lisbon Design Week is an annual citywide event dedicated to showcasing Portuguese design and the creative communities shaping it today. Unlike a traditional trade fair, the event unfolds across Lisbon’s neighborhoods, encouraging visitors to discover ateliers, creative studios, independent galleries, private homes, and cultural spaces through curated exhibitions and installations.
The event places a strong emphasis on Portuguese makers, locally sourced materials, craftsmanship, and collaborations between designers, artists, architects, and brands. At the same time, it highlights how Portuguese design continues to evolve through innovation, technology, sustainability, and international exchange.

Spotlight Presentations
A new Spotlight section introduces solo presentations dedicated to individual designers, including Gonçalo Campos at Ligne Roset, Alan Louis at Fantastic Frank Lisbon, Vasco Fragoso Mendes at The Lisbonaire, and Bernardo Figueiredo at QuartoSala.
Design in Unexpected Spaces
This year’s edition continues Lisbon Design Week’s fascination with residential and unconventional settings, with installations hosted in private apartments, chapels, hotels, and historic venues across the city.
