The festive season arrives in Loulé with charm, sparkle, and a joyful spirit that sweeps across its towns and villages. Streets light up, traditional markets return, and Santa’s sleigh makes several stops through the region. In Loulé the city is aglow with lights. Displays are strewn through the city center form the castle walls to the old market, and f course the center round-about. A visit to Loulé in the evening will no doubt get you into the holiday spirit.
Loulé – Aldeia dos Sonhos
In the heart of town, Loulé transforms into a festive wonderland, featuring Santa’s House, live entertainment, children’s activities, Christmas workshops, a synthetic ice rink, and light-filled streets perfect for evening strolls. The main square hosts Christmas decorations, street animation, and seasonal food stalls. A nativity scene and photo spots add to the holiday charm. The Christmas village takes place in the area of Cerca do Convento, Largo Afonso III and Largo de São Francisco.
A highlight for this year is a 22-meter illuminated snowman on Praça da República, in front of the Loulé municipal market. The snowman will remain up all season, supervising the holiday festivities.

“A Very Special Christmas”
Designed to support local businesses during the holiday season, A Very Special Christmas is a retail initiative encouraging residents and visitors to shop locally across the municipality of Loulé. Participating shops offer exclusive seasonal promotions and gift ideas, helping shoppers find unique presents while boosting the local economy.
So, from now until January 5, 2026, with every €10 spent, customers receive an entry ticket for a drawing of various prizes. A drawing will be held on each of 18 December and 6 January 6. The prize is a €15,000 in shopping voucher to local businesses in each drawing. Also in the 6 January drawing, there will be prizes of dream trips.

Feira da Serra de Natal Market
19-22 December from 10:00 to 22, inspired by the summer’s iconic Feira da Serra, this Christmas edition showcases regional products, gastronomy, handicrafts, entertainment, and festive delicacies—perfect for gift shopping and supporting local producers. The market will be held in the building of the former Carnival warehouse, next to the Santo António Convent, in Loulé. Entrance is free.
