Mizu Japanese Fine Dining at VILA VITA Parc, Algarve

Mizu, a fine dining Japanese restaurant, is the newest addition to luxury resort VILA VITA Parc’s gastronomic delights. Mizu, which means “water” in Japanese is aptly named. A view over the Atlantic Ocean and a selection of fresh catch of the day will transform you to the wonderment of the Far East whilst being on the Algarve.

Contemporary in design, the Zen ambience is inspired by Japanese culture and tradition. Individual Kanji characters clipped like post-it notes provide an exquisite twist on lighting, whilst immaculately-trimmed bonsai and modern versions of traditional lanterns solidify the Asian experience.

As is customary for Japanese cuisine, ingredients on the menu at Mizu include fresh fish and locally-sourced. Bring your friends and reserve the Teppanyaki table. Or, try the chef’s selections made on the Algarve’s first Robata Grill. Mouth-watering scallop skewers with yuzu kosho or the Alaska black cod with miso saikyo are slow grilled over white hot Binchotan, charcoal which helps heighten flavors. (A centuries old tradition, Binchotan charcoal emits no smoke and allows for healthier and cleaner cooking.)

Other highlights include Hirame no Usuzukuri (a rare flounder carpaccio with ponzu sauce) and a homemade grated wasabi on shark skin performed tableside.

For a more interactive experience, reserve seats (capacity 10 people) at the Mizu Teppanyaki grill. The skilled chef works the flames to prepare your meal to perfection. This option provides for a set menu of six courses.
