Muda - Modern Portuguese Cuisine in the Baixa, Porto

Muda, in Porto, is the perfect spot to satisfy your urge for Portuguese cuisine at lunch, throughout the late afternoon/early evening and into the night. Sitting on Rua Cándido dos Reis, in the very busy Baixa district, the restaurant/bar/lounge is a welcome cool and casual respite for dining with loved ones, chatting with colleagues or chilling with friends.

Three rooms across two floors of the historic building are designed to create modern and hip areas for dining, drinking and lounging. Furnishings in subtle tones of rose and mustard stand out against walls covered in dark Portuguese cork. Pendent lighting hanging from the high ceilings add a starry effect.

The menu boasts a contemporary interpretation of classic Douro dishes. Portuguese favorites like bacalhãu a brás (a popular cod fish recipe) or grilled chicken with aromatic potatoes are available, as well as interesting takes on caldeirada do mar (seafood stew) and xerém (a type of polenta) with shrimp and mussels. Everything is made fresh in the kitchen, from butter to desserts. With that in mind, don´t forget to save room for the apple cake with caramel or green tea milk crème.
