Residing the in the restored Convento das Bernardas, Lisbon’s Museu da Marioneta (Puppet Museum) is the first and only museum in Portugal entirely dedicated to displaying, understanding and archiving marionette puppetry.
Visitors will get a whole overview of the world of puppetry. They will not only get an “audience view” of the beauty and magic of marionettes, but also take a glimpse into what takes place behind-the-scenes of a puppet master.
A wealth of Portuguese puppets are featured, as well as puppets from many other countries. The museum also includes masks from across the globe and from many diverse cultures.
