Paula Amorim, the entrepreneur behind such exclusive popular concepts as Fashion Clinic retails stores and JNçQUOI restaurants, introduces a new “Eudaimonia,” a collection of resort wear for 2022 from her PAULA fashion line. This is the first collection under the creative direction of Ricardo Preto.
The brand believes “Eudaimonia”, which means “being of virtue and happiness” in Greek, is an apropos title for the collection. According to Greek philosophy, to possess this genius is to have the ancient ambition of being fully happy. “It is this intense, and also elusive, happiness that we want to capture in every detail of a dress, print or fit of a pair of pants,” explains designer Ricardo Preto.
The result is a collection full of light, fluid silhouettes and structures that offer delicacy and comfort, ideal for meeting friends for lunch at the beach or sipping late-night cocktails on the rooftop. Materials used are silk, linen, leather, knits and cashmere, in a palette of umber, bitter chocolate, golden yellow, forest and cadmium greens, biking red and cerise tones, with a bit of bright white and xenon blue. Perhaps what makes the garments lush are the detailed finishes such as handcrafted embroidery.
The collection’s key pieces are the yellow silk dress with feathers (at top), the dress with boucle appliqué and fringes, embroidered linen tunics (above left), the linen shirt-dress with drops-shaped patches, the knit dress with cut-out sides (above right) and the striped color ribs, among others.
“Eudaimonia”, by PAULA, can be found at the new Fashion Clinic Pop-up Store in Carvalhal-Comporta, and is currently exclusively available in all Fashion Clinic stores and online.
