Mark your calendar and save your appetite the Sardine Festival in Portimão returns in 2024. Always a highlight of the summer season in the Algarve, the Sardine Festival brings together warm summer nights, a favorite national food and superstar musical entertainment. Don’t miss the Sardine Festival, along the Adrade River in Portimão, 30 July to 4 August.
Musical acts are featured throughout the evening on four different stages. Each night a nationally-famous artist will be featured on the Main Stage (Palco Principal).
Of course, sardines are the main attraction at this festival. You can step into any number of restaurants across the city as they will be featuring this delicacy. Or, at the festival, the outside grills will be working at a furious pace. Find them riverside, next to Avenida Guanaré. Tickets for grilled sardines on a plate or on bread cab be purchased at points of sale:
