Spatia Comporta Rooms, Cabanas and Villas

spatia comporta

Nature is the leitmotif of Spatia Comporta, whose rooms are modeled on traditional straw-roofed fisherman’s cabins.  It’s a nod to the heritage of the region, while this small hotel embraces contemporary conveniences, such as amenities provided by the well-known beauty brand Maison Codage Paris.  Ample use of glass and wood give the rooms a feeling of connection with the beautiful nature outside.

The name Spatia comes from the Latin word for “space,” because there’s plenty of it around the property (each room comes in at more than 400sf /40sqm). The room’s simple, minimalist lines and furnishings add to the feeling of spaciousness while highlighting traditional Alentejo crafts. This is clearly a place to slow down and reconnect with nature, while detaching from city life. Privacy is paramount.

Summer 2023 saw the addition of 18 more cabanas (538sqf/50sqm), which brings the room count to 38, and a beach clubhouse. Onsite, there’s a straightforward but tasty restaurant, and a number of family-friendly amenities, ranging from a separate children’s pool to athletic offerings like pickleball.

There are also 27 villas, ranging from two to six bedrooms, each on a plot that’s roughly two acres. Each one is a generous distance from its neighbors, ensuring privacy and quiet.
