Tinto restaurant, in Vale do Lobo in the central Algarve, celebrates the flavorful richness and diversity of Portugal, serving favorite dishes representing all parts of the country. Dining at Tinto is a culinary journey into the “best of” Portuguese cuisine.
Inside, the design is sophisticated yet casual–think big city glamor meets the sunny Algarve lifestyle. A sleek bar stretches across the center of the restaurant separating the dining room from an elegant cocktail lounge in back.
The menu starts out with a selection of petiscos (small snack sakin to tapas), representing favorite dishes from across the country. A generous selection of delightful Portuguese fish and seafood options follow. And carnivores have a separate menu dedicated to beef and lamb, including the ever-popular Surf & Turf.
- Artisanal Snacks: Suckling Pig Rissole with orange mayonnaise (Beira Litoral); Traditional Migas (Minho), and Sautéed Asparagus with Scrambled Eggs (Estremadura)
- From the Sea: Salt Crusted Seabass (by reservation only), Monkfish Rice, Roasted Octopus “Lagareiro”, Fish & Seafood Cataplana, and Tinto’s-own Codfish Loin
- Meats: Rack of Lamb, Pepper Steak, Flank Steak, Portuguese-style Grilled Steak
A special touch at Tinto…when the servers bring the food to the table, they share the regional origins and stories behind each dish. It is yet another small but enjoyable gesture adding to the appreciation of the meal.
Additionally, the majority of impressive wines are available by the glass, allowing for the opportunity to explore perfect pairings with the petiscos.
