ARCO Lisboa Contemporary Art Fair 2026, 28-31 May

ARCO Lisboa returns to the Cordoaria Nacional from May 28–31, celebrating a decade of bringing contemporary art, collectors, curators, and galleries to the Portuguese capital. The 2026 edition features 83 galleries from 17 countries, reinforcing Lisbon’s growing status as one of Europe’s leading cultural destinations.

Portuguese galleries account for 30 of the participants, while 53 international galleries round out the fair’s increasingly global profile.  The core General Programme includes 61 galleries.  Two curated sections also feature prominently into ARCO.  They are: Opening Lisboa, dedicated to younger galleries, emerging artists, and more experimental contemporary art practices, with 16 galleries; and Archipelago of Art Histories, exploring the lineages and inherited forms of knowledge shaping contemporary practice including 6 additional galleries.

Among this year’s highlights are first-time participants including Marcelo Guarnieri, Aninat, and AA Gallery, while established names such as Cristina Guerra Contemporary Art, Pedro Cera, and Vera Cortês return to the fair. SOLO projects will spotlight artists through focused presentations, while Opening Lisboa continues its emphasis on emerging spaces and experimental artistic practices.

Beyond the fair itself, ARCO Lisboa once again expands across the city with exhibitions, museum programming, and cultural events taking place throughout Lisbon. Institutions including MAAT, Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian, MAC/CCB, and MACAM will host exhibitions and events during the fair week.

The fair also welcomes back ArtsLibris, featuring 60 national and international publishers, alongside Millennium Art Talks and a new lounge designed by Lisbon Design Week titled “The Living Room.”
