Where to Buy the Audemars Piguet x Swatch Royal Pop in Portugal

There’s no shortage of luxury watch collaborations these days, but every once in a while one lands with the kind of frenzy that sends collectors into full-on queue-at-dawn mode. The new Audemars Piguet x Swatch Royal Pop collection is exactly that kind of launch.

Inspired by the legendary Royal Oak and the irreverent spirit of Swatch POP watches from the 1980s, the collection takes one of the most recognizable silhouettes in watchmaking and turns it into something playful, colorful, and surprisingly wearable. Not on your wrist, necessarily — although you can — but around your neck, clipped to a bag, tucked into a pocket, or even displayed on your desk.

And yes, they’re already proving very difficult to get.

The eight-model collection officially launched on May 16, 2026, and is only sold through selected Swatch boutiques worldwide. In Portugal, that means the Swatch stores at Centro Colombo in Lisbon and NorteShopping in Porto. Given the reaction already building online — and the history of previous Swatch collaborations selling out within hours — expect long lines, limited availability, and a healthy resale market almost immediately.

What makes the Royal Pop collection interesting is that it doesn’t feel like a watered-down luxury collaboration. The design details are unmistakably Audemars Piguet: the octagonal bezel, the Petite Tapisserie-style dial, and even the exposed screws that made the 1972 Royal Oak a design icon. But Swatch injects its own sense of fun through bold Bioceramic colors, oversized proportions, and the pocket-watch-inspired format.

Inside, the watches are powered by Swatch’s updated hand-wound SISTEM51 mechanical movement, offering more than 90 hours of power reserve — an impressive technical flex for a collection that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

That balance between high watchmaking and playful design is exactly why the Royal Pop works. It’s collectible without feeling precious, luxurious without the stiffness, and just eccentric enough to become the accessory of the summer.

If you want one, though, don’t overthink it. Chances are the people already lining up certainly aren’t. Purchases will be limited to one watch per person, per day, per store.
