Eclipse Dinner Series: Chefs Pedro Pinto and Vasco Coelho Santos at Viceroy Ombria, 2 & 3 May

This spring, the Algarve’s gastronomic scene is set to shimmer under the light of a rare culinary phenomenon. On May 2 and 3, Solalua—the fine dining gastropub at Viceroy at Ombria Algarve—hosts the debut of Eclipse, an exclusive four-hands dinner series that brings together two extraordinary chefs for one unforgettable experience.

Eclipse is more than a dinner—it’s a celestial celebration of creativity and craft, inspired by Solalua’s namesake: “sol” (sun) and “lua” (moon). It symbolizes the meeting of two culinary forces in perfect harmony. At the heart of this collaboration is Chef Pedro Pinto, Viceroy’s resident talent, who will be joined for the inaugural edition by none other than Chef Vasco Coelho Santos of the Michelin-starred Euskalduna Studio in Porto.

Two Chefs, One Stage

Known for his bold, elegant take on Algarvian cuisine, Chef Pedro Pinto brings a rich résumé that spans some of Europe’s finest kitchens—from the three-Michelin-starred AbAC in Barcelona to Vila Joya and VILA VITA Parc in Portugal. Now leading the charge at Solalua, Pinto continues to push boundaries with refined regional flavours and seasonal produce.

Joining him is Chef Vasco Coelho Santos, one of Portugal’s most exciting culinary visionaries. After cutting his teeth at legendary Spanish institutions like El Bulli, Mugartiz, and Arzak, Vasco returned to Porto to open Euskalduna Studio—a creative workshop turned Michelin-starred destination. His cooking blends international influence with deep personal flair, resulting in dishes that are as thought-provoking as they are delicious.

The Experience

Guests of Eclipse will be treated to a ten-course tasting menu, featuring five courses from each chef. Chef Pinto will shine a spotlight on the Algarve, while Chef Coelho Santos delivers a taste of his inventive, global perspective. Each dish will be paired with hand-selected wines to complement and elevate the experience.

With only 25 seats available each night, this intimate dinner promises to be an unforgettable evening of dialogue, flavour, and artistry.
