Lisbon’s most exclusive shopping street, Avenida da Liberdade, gains yet another internationally-respected brand. The opening of the new Officine Panerai shop at No. 69B, is the first boutique in Portugal for the Florentine-based luxury watch maker. Those familiar with the distinctive design will now enjoy browsing the Panerai collection, as well as special and limited editions.
The Boutique Panerai is 30 meters square and designed in simple, traditional Italian style. Elements used in the decoration, such as aged brass frames, and teak and steel structures, reflect the company’s heritage of maritime watch making. Venetian stucco walls add a touch classical Italian romance.
Officine Panerai was established in Florence in 1860 as a watch-making laboratory, built on the ideology of blending Italian design, Swiss technology and a passion for the sea. In fact, in the early twentieth century, Panerai supplied measurement and precision instruments to the Italian Navy, including the Panerai Radiomar and Luminor watches on the wrists of naval sailors.
Today, Panerai’s iconic design remains unchanged by time, particularly, the distinctive crown-protecting lever bridge. The brand, now considered a fine luxury product, is sold exclusively in Panerai boutiques or by carefully selected dealers.
Tuttonero (above left), with a Luminor 1950 case and the classic Panerai bracelet, is made entirely of matt black ceramic. It is a contemporary watch faithful to the Panerai design identity and constructed using the most advanced technological materials.
The new Luminor Submersible 1950 Amagnetic 3 Days Automatic Titanio (above right) contains all the elements that traditionally characterize Panerai product, including 21st century new technologies.
