Paixa Restaurante – Perpetually Popular & Appealing

Paixa Restaurante Algarve

Paixa, located near the entrance to Vale do Lobo in the central Algarve, is one of those rare restaurants mixing modern, sophisticated décor with laid-back ambiance, and inspired cuisine in simple course formats . It is trendy and fashionable, yet comfortable and delicious.  In a region where restaurant selection consists either of  fine gastronomy, or traditional chicken and fish, Paixa stands out as a hot spot to take your sweetie or celebrate with friends.

Many people will remember the original restaurant, the very popular Paixanito on the road to Querença near Loulé.  Portugal Confidential remembers it well, as it was one of the first dining spots upon the editor’s arrive to the Algarve in 2008. It was small, rustic and traditional, with a long menu of regional dishes, extensive wine list, and excellent service. It was a favorite with the Portuguese, and a must-do for visitors.

However, in 2009, the Paixanito owner decided to move his enterprise from rural hillside to manicured oceanfront resort.  Traditional gave way to modern minimalism.  Yet, the cuisine, the service and, especially the patrons, all followed.  The current Paixa is better than ever.

Paixa’s concept is a menu of tapas-style regional specialties intended to share with your partner or pass around the table.  Dishes range from simple and satisfying, to more adventurous and delectable.   Consider a few items from the menu of 40….

Mix and match the plates with wine selections from the restaurant ‘s garrafeira. Choose from over 140 labels.
