There is something quietly exciting happening in Guia. Long known for its traditional chicken restaurants, this small Algarve town has welcomed a striking new dining destination that feels refreshingly different. Rising on the site of a former ruin, CIRO introduces a contemporary Mediterranean fire-cooking concept that blends cosmopolitan style with the relaxed soul of the Algarve, creating a restaurant well worth seeking out from anywhere in the region.
The latest offering from the culinary team at Vila Vita Parc, CIRO is the luxury resort’s 14th restaurant and fifth concept beyond the resort itself. While the connection brings unquestionable pedigree, this is no hotel outpost. Instead, CIRO has its own distinct identity, conceived as a neighborhood restaurant with destination appeal—one that celebrates the Algarve’s deep-rooted relationship with fire while embracing influences from across the Mediterranean.
Designed for lingering lunches and memorable evenings, the restaurant unfolds across a series of beautifully considered spaces. Guests can choose between an elegant interior dining room, intimate courtyards, or an inviting first-floor terrace, all connected by a clean, contemporary aesthetic. Soft stucco walls, sculptural terracotta lighting and natural materials create an atmosphere that feels effortlessly sophisticated without losing the warmth and informality that define the Algarve.

The kitchen, led by Chef Francisco Barbosa, allows fire to become more than simply a cooking method—it is the defining ingredient. Smoke, flame and glowing embers coax remarkable depth of flavor from exceptional seasonal produce. Fresh seafood, prime meats and market vegetables are treated with restraint, allowing each ingredient to speak for itself while gaining richness from the grill.
The menu ranges from delicate crudo of white sea bream and cured mackerel to fire-roasted Hispi cabbage, grilled tiger prawns, and beautifully charred squid. Signature mains include CIRO-style chicken, Iberian pork with oven-baked rice, beef skewers with guanciale and chimichurri, and an impressive Tomahawk steak designed for sharing.

Even desserts embrace the restaurant’s philosophy, while the cocktail list continues the theme with creations such as the Piña de Fuego, featuring grilled pineapple and toasted coconut.
Guia may have built its culinary reputation on tradition, but CIRO confidently looks to the future.
