The rooftop, garden, and high-ceilinged dining room at Casa da Goa (the Goan cultural center) was a space that never quite lived up to its potential. That changed in summer 2022 with the launch of Go A Lisboa (get it?), an all-day restaurant and hangout that caters to Lisbon’s international creative set.
The investors brought in talented and versatile chef Inga Martin to oversee the kitchen and devise a menu that ranges from eggs Benedict and avocado toast in the morning to spicy crab cakes with citrus mayonnaise and tender octopus with harissa and beetroot hummus in the evening. Since part of her mission was to play up the Goan connection, she also presents dishes like meat or vegetarian samosas, and shrimp curry with coconut and spices. The cocktail menu is equally creative.
Taking advantage of a viewpoint that’s quiet and close to the April 25 bridge, the focus at the beginning was the rooftop. But a few months later, the indoor dining room opened for a supper club experience with a special menu and a rotating slate of DJs who plan to keep the party going until well into the night. .
There’s also an ambitious amount of programming, from morning yoga sessions with teachers from Lisbon’s cult-fave studio Baraza, to late-night sets from up-and-coming DJs.
