Louro Restaunt - Fine Dining for Lunch and Dinner at Conrad Algarve

While the Conrad Algarve’s signature restaurant Gusto by Heinz Beck, holds a Michelin-star, Louro Restaurant, with Chef Osvalde Silva at the helm, is another fine dining option for hotel guests, business lunches, romantic dinners and socializing with friends. Louro offers separate menus for lunch and dinner, as well as a delectable degustation menu for a gastronomic journey.

Whereas Gusto spotlights Mediterranean cuisine, Chef Silva presents his unique vision of modern Algarvian dishes. Silva enhanced his knowledge and honed his skills by training in some of the top kitchens in southern Portugal, including VILA VITA Parc, the Michelin-starred Ermitage, Convento do Espinheiro in Évora and the Sheraton Algarve Pine Clffs Resort.

At Louro, Chef Silva mixes traditional Portuguese cuisine with inspiring, ultra-modern techniques and a lot of artistic flair. Signature dishes include a seafood soup with ingredients from the Ria Formosa, seabass cooked in a crust of salt and algae, clams xerém (with red carabineiro prawns and suckling pig), and a dish of cured seafood including mackerel, eel, and salmon.

The desserts, by Pastry Chef Roberto Horta, are equally outstanding. Horta developed his obsession for sweet cuisine at a young age, cooking and baking in the kitchen with his mother. Over the years, he worked in pastry shops, attended gastronomic workshops and trained in numerous five-star hotels in Portugal and Angola. At Conrad Algarve, he has free reign to conceive, create and cook extraordinary dishes that are as pretty to look at as they are heavenly to taste.
