Urban Art in Fundão by Milu Correch and WOOL

WOOL, our favorite promoters of urban art in Portugal, have produced another metropolitan masterpiece. This time, it’s a work by Argentine artist Milu Correch. The two-story mural was commissioned by CALE – Fundão Street Festival, as part of their annual summer celebration. The work remains on permanent display on the old market building in Fundão in central Portugal.

Given the history of the building, the Buenos Aires-native developed a nostalgic image of the old open-air market. With antique photographs providing inspiration, Correch brings to life an imagined scene of what “city life” may have been like in the past.

Correch discovered her passion for large format urban art after attending a workshop of Lean Frizzera and Emy Mariani, two street artists she admired. Soon after, she was translating her images from her sketch pad to city walls. Her works can now be found across Europe and South America.
